What we collect, and when
If you use the chat assistant
Everything you type into the chat is sent to our server and to Anthropic, whose model generates the replies. If the conversation suggests you may be a fit for our services, or if you leave without booking a call after a substantive conversation, a copy of the full conversation is emailed to the two people who run this business. We read these to follow up and to improve the assistant.
Do not put confidential client information, privileged material or anything about a live matter into the chat. It is a sales enquiry tool. If you need to discuss specifics, do it on a call.
If you book a call
Booking is handled by Calendly. Whatever you enter on their form, including your name, email and answers to the booking questions, goes to Calendly and to us. Their privacy policy governs their handling of it.
Automatically, on every visit
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint or track you across other sites. It records page views and coarse aggregate information such as country, browser and referrer. We cannot identify you from it.
Our servers briefly hold your IP address to rate-limit the chat, so that one visitor cannot run up costs or abuse the endpoint. It is held in memory only and is not written to a database.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you were not shown a consent banner.
Why we are allowed to do this
Under UK GDPR our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to sales enquiries made to us, and keeping the site working and affordable to run. You made the enquiry; we are answering it. Where you actively give us information by booking a call, we also rely on the steps necessary to enter into a contract at your request.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of processors, all of them named here:
- Anthropic generates the chat replies. Anthropic does not train its models on business API traffic.
- Resend delivers the lead notification emails to us.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the analytics.
- Calendly handles booking, if you book.
Some of these are based in the United States, so your information may be transferred outside the UK and EEA. Those transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Chat transcripts arrive as email and are kept for up to 24 months in our inbox, or until you ask us to delete them. Server logs on Vercel roll off automatically within 30 days. Analytics data is aggregate and is never linked to you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Email info@legalpracticegrowth.io and we will action it within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Changes
If we change how this site handles information, we change this page at the same time and update the date at the top.
